Learn to make your own easy and all natural beauty products…

2009 January 23

Hello friends!

Hope everyone is doing well and having a great week!  I, for one, can’t believe how fast time is flying and that it’s already the end of yet another work week!  I’m sure most of you can relate. :-)

In my last blog, I promised a video blog containing some natural beauty tips… and it’s here!

Join me in my kitchen for my first “vlog” and learn how to make your own all natural body spray, room or linen spray!  It’s very easy to make, and I’ve listed the ingredients that I mention in the video, below.

  • Aprox. 16oz distilled/purified water
  • Essential oil (22 drops for room or linen spray, 12 drops for body spray)

As I said in the video, the creative possibilities for making your own labels are endless!  The labels I made, in the picture of the finished product below, were made quickly and easily; but you can make them as simple or elaborate as you want by usingscrapbook paper, stickers, stamps, or whatever you would like to make an attractive label.  Remember- the right packaging can really make a difference! :-)

I would love to hear how your own endeavor in making fragrant water goes, or if you have any questions- please leave me a comment!

Check back again soon for a vblog with more make-your-own natural beauty products!

Blessings!

I am wondering about the food coloring in the sprays. Does it not stain the linens? Great tutorial, thanks!

@ Jennifer: That’s a great question! I have not actually tried the dyed fragrance water on linens yet, but I would think that if only a hint of color were added it wouldn’t stain your linens. However, I would recommend trying some on a rag first, just to make sure! ;)

I’ll be trying it as well, and I’ll leave another reply when I find out! Thanks again for the great comment!

This is so wonderful! I can’t wait till you post another little video! I am going to go get some essential oils ASAP and try this :)

If you are worried that the food coloring might stain your linens, you could always leave the food coloring out :) and then put it in a colored bottle. I have seen linen spray that has no coloring in a glass bottle too with lavendar floating in it too. They look so pretty!

    Thanks again for this Marianna!

@ Bethany: Thank you so much for your feedback! What a great idea to put it in a colored bottle if you’re worried about staining linens… and adding lavender to float in it- that’s such a great idea as well! I’m learning all sorts of stuff here too! ;-)

So glad you enjoyed it, and I so appreciate the comment! I hope to get the next vlog up real soon! :-)

Thanks for the great demonstration! I can’t afford to buy the natural, aromatherapeutic cleaning products that I’ve been using for years, so it would be wonderful if you could teach us how to make great smelling all purpose cleaner and window cleaner!

@ Erin: I would love to do a demonstration on that (I do have a good recipe for it!)! Thanks for the good idea, I hope to do it in the near future. I appreciate the feedback! :-)

Thank you thank you! I had only dreamed it could be this easy, but it truley is!
I’ve just enroled in Aveda (beauty school) And NO synthetic fragrances are allowed to be worn durring school hours. I know they would like us to wear their fragrances or from natural stores like the bodyshop but now my body sprays are just as good but better because I know the’ve been made with love!
    love, drea
